General Store Cooperative runs experiential pop-ups within existing store fronts and businesses and in vacant spaces. We’ve run pop-ups as short as one day and as long as 6 weeks. Our pop-ups are great ways to generate buzz, boost revenue, and increase your customer base and reach.
Our wildly popular 2018 holiday pop-up shop in South Orange, N.J., attracted over 13,000 unique customers and increased foot traffic for neighboring businesses. The pop-up included a cozy seating area, sponsored by a local vintage furniture store, in which people could lounge and listen to a great program of live music and take part in fun experiences like Ukulele jam sessions, poetry readings, and hot chocolate tastings. Approximately 75 local indie businesses, makers, and artists took part in this community-oriented shop.
Other recent pop-ups include:
- a weekend-long Everything is “Green” Pop-up in a local pub over St. Patrick’s Day weekend, which featured eco-friendly products and products that were literally green;
- a month-long Pop-up Kids Shop — in a space that had been vacant for years — featuring items for babies, kids and parents that included a nursing lounge, knitting circles, and kids activities, including daily morning story time; and
- a one-day Valentine’s Day pop-up in a local clothing store, which included a station where kids could decorate Valentine’s for children in a nearby hospital.
